[I Hate AI] he told me. It’s of the Devil (Or is it?)
Written by Jim Vickers

Last week, I met with a brilliant CEO who said flatly:
“I hate AI. It’s of the Devil!”

➤ Expert in his field
➤ Highly respected and well-connected
➤ Deeply intelligent—and deeply skeptical
➤ Had never used AI, not even once

I didn’t argue. I listened. I asked questions.

Then I shared a few real examples from my coaching work:
• Speeding up complex proposals from 3 hours to 15 minutes
• Brainstorming messaging without starting from a blank page
• Scanning massive data to extract one pinpoint insight

He paused. Then leaned in.
“Wait… AI can do that?”

We explored a few more ideas.
AI agents. Lead gen. Strategy modeling…

And by the end of our session, he said:
“I was wrong. This could change everything. When can we dive deeper?”

This is the same leader who started by calling AI “of the Devil”!

What changed?
Not the tech…
The perspective.

He went from fear… to curiosity.
From avoidance… to possibility.

That’s the shift I coach leaders through every day.

📌 Truth is, many leaders fear AI, but it’s not a threat—it’s an edge if you understand it.

AI isn’t the enemy…
Misconception is.

AI won’t replace you… A person using AI will.

💡 Leadership takeaway?
Don’t just learn AI—lead with it.
