20+ years ago, a routine CT scan revealed something unexpected…
➤ Peak physical condition ➤ No symptoms
➤ Doctor said it was serious ➤ But I had no idea HOW serious
Years later, a top vascular surgeon reviewed my case and said:
“You should be dead.”
“You have an abdominal aortic dissection—the same condition that killed actor John Ritter and Albert Einstein.”
What struck me most?
– He didn’t ease into it.
– He just looked at the scan and said: “You should be dead.”
– No buildup. No filter.
– Just truth—exactly when I needed it.
He explained: if it bursts, I’d have less than 2 minutes—I’d be gone.
There were no guarantees. But since it had remained stable,
he recommended against the highly invasive surgery.
Then in 2022, the impossible happened…
The dissection disappeared. Healed!
“Have you ever seen this happen?” I asked.
“Never once in my entire career,” he said.
Some say luck. I believe it was prayer.
He didn’t disagree—he just said “I can’t explain it”.
And that’s okay…
Leadership lesson? 💡
You need someone who sees what others miss…
and tells you what others won’t.
That’s what great coaching provides:
✓ Vision beyond the visible
✓ Truth when others stay silent
✓ Wisdom to know when to act—and when NOT to
One wrong recommendation could’ve cost me my life.
One poor business decision can unravel years of success.

I should be dead—but thank God I’m still here with my wife.
