REKINDLE THE SPARK: HOW PASSION FUELS SUCCESS!
Written by Jim Vickers

Many leaders start with a deep sense of purpose, but over time, it’s easy to get lost in the daily grind. At Elite CEO Advisors, we help leaders RISE ABOVE distractions and REIGNITE their passion.

3 STRATEGIES TO REIGNITE YOUR PASSION

1. RECONNECT WITH YOUR ‘WHY’

Rediscover the passion that first fueled your success by revisiting your original mission. Why did you start? What problem were you passionate about solving?

STEVE JOBS once said: “The only way to do great work is to love what you do.”

ACTION STEP:

Write down three reasons you started and ask, “How can I bring more of these elements back into my leadership?” Schedule weekly time to review these and align your weekly tasks accordingly.

SUCCESS STORY:

In 1997, Apple was on the verge of collapse, but Steve Jobs reinvented the company’s image with the Think Different campaign. By reconnecting with Apple’s core values of creativity and innovation, Jobs reignited the company’s passion and positioned it for a historic turnaround, saving it from bankruptcy and transforming it into a global leader.

2. ENGAGE IN CREATIVE THINKING

Creativity sparks passion. Set aside 30 minutes per week brainstorming new ideas without restrictions. At the end of a month, evaluate the best idea and develop it further with your team.

ELON MUSK says: “I think it is possible for ordinary people to choose to be extraordinary.”

ACTION STEP:

Block 30 minutes each week for creative thinking. After four sessions, review your notes and choose one idea to explore with your team.

SUCCESS STORY:

Netflix reinvented itself from a DVD rental company to a streaming giant because leadership spent years brainstorming innovative new ideas. They saw a gap in the market and created something extraordinary, forever changing entertainment.

3. FIND INSPIRATION FROM YOUR TEAM

Your team can be a powerful source of energy. Engage in deeper conversations beyond day-to-day tasks. Encourage them to share bold ideas, even if they seem unfeasible. Involving your team can reignite your passion and generate breakthroughs.

JEFF BEZOS remarked: “Invention comes in many forms… It requires a long-term willingness to be misunderstood.”

ACTION STEP:

Have a team brainstorming session on out-of-the-box ideas. Engage your customers for input. Encourage bold suggestions from your team, even impractical ones. You may find that a radical concept evolves into an innovative strategy.

SUCCESS STORY:

Lego was struggling in the early 2000s. By tapping into their fan community and listening to their team, they embraced crowdsourcing for designs. This led to partnerships with major franchises like Star Wars and Harry Potter, reigniting success that was pivotal in their turnaround.

CALL TO ACTION:

Passion isn’t a one-time spark—it’s a flame that requires attention. Implement one of these strategies this week and rediscover the passion that will drive your business forward.
