In my recent post titled Cutting Through the Distractions, you shared valuable insights about revisiting past strategies and starting new habits. Jeff Class highlighted the power of writing down goals, while AMBERLY LAGO shared how locking herself away helped her cut distractions and finish her manuscript. These conversations revealed a valuable lesson: CONSISTENCY and INTENTIONALITY are crucial to maintaining FOCUS and ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS.

STAYING FOCUSED: CONSISTENCY AND INTENTIONALITY

Staying focused requires: BEING CONSISTENT and BEING INTENTIONAL. Whether it’s strategies you’ve used before or new ones you’re starting to implement, set your focus on maintaining both consistency and intentionality.

If you’ve let go of something that worked in the past, or if you’re ready to adopt new strategies, remember: CONSISTENCY AND INTENTIONALITY WILL MAKE THE DIFFERENCE. Let’s look at three steps that can help you regain your focus and drive results.

1. WRITE DOWN AND REVIEW YOUR GOALS

Writing down your goals is crucial, but reviewing them CONSISTENTLY is what keeps you on track. Everyone knows this, but do busy, successful executives actually write down ALL their GOALS and REVIEW them DAILY—or even monthly? It’s a powerful practice that drives real results!!

REAL-LIFE STORY:

I heard a CEO recently share how he CONSISTENTLY reviews his personal and business goals daily, ensuring his day and week are aligned toward achieving them. As you might guess, he’s extraordinarily successful.

2. REFOCUS WITH TIME BLOCKING

Scheduling large blocks of uninterrupted time for specific activities will keep you focused and productive.

REAL-LIFE STORY:

In the past, I worked extra hours—too many hours—to push through and meet new goals. But once I INTENTIONALLY shifted to time blocking, especially longer blocks of time, I found I could get much more done without working more hours. The quality of my work has also improved, especially for content creation and focusing during client meetings. Batching similar activities into time blocks has made a huge difference for me in productivity and focus.

3. STAY COMMITTED TO CONSISTENT ACTION

When we commit to CONSISTENT action, we see significant results. I recently heard Amy Porterfield say: “The path to success is to take CONSISTENT action, even if that action is imperfect.” It’s through imperfect but CONSISTENT action that we learn, grow, and ultimately achieve our goals.

REAL-LIFE STORY:

Amberly Lago shared in my last post: “I had to lock myself in my office and leave my phone in the other room!” She committed to this strategy to finish her manuscript, demonstrating the power of COMMITMENT in ACTION.
